I can’t believe it’s already time to start talking back to school. What’s even crazier is that I’ll have a kindergartner this year. The ol’ “the days are long but the years are short” saying is so true. It’s hard to believe that Ivy’s a month away from being done with daycare for good. (Cue happy dance that daycare bills are coming to an end though!)
New School, New Traditions
I always remember my mom taking me out to go school shopping before the school year started and that excitement continues into adulthood. While it’s a little bittersweet to have a child old enough for school, I’m excited to start the same traditions. And it’s probably no surprise that we’ve already started our shopping. I was too nervous to wait and risk not being able to find everything.
With that in mind, here are some of the items we’ve picked up already and/ or some items I’m considering grabbing.

Our Back to School Items
I’m OBSESSED with Ivy’s backpack and lunch bag! I’ve always heard how well Pottery Barn’s backpacks hold up, so figured we would spend a little bit extra for the quality. Hopefully everyone’s recommendations are right!
Is it weird that I’m kind of excited to pack cold lunch? Ivy can be a super picky eater so I figured we better have a lunch bag for cold lunches. I love the little lunch accessories Pottery Barn has to fit their lunch bags. And how cute are those heart picks and the fun sandwich cutter shapes? I have seen a lot of people make “homemade” uncrustable sandwiches and then freeze them for breakfasts and lunches. Such a brilliant time-saving idea!
A backpack and lunch bag are essential for the school day, but what about at home? I saw this book-themed PJ set and had to get it! And how about those floral sneaks? I wish they came in grownup sizes, too!
