It’s hard to believe the Fourth of July is only a few days away! I don’t know about you, but the summer always zooms by after the holiday is over. This year we’re keeping it pretty low-key, hosting some family and friends for a small BBQ and shooting off some fireworks in the street. It’s our first 4th of July at our new house, so hopefully the neighbors don’t mind the added noise!
Easy Flag Snack Idea
If you’re a last minute planner, like me, I wanted to share a super quick and cute snack idea to bring with or serve at a BBQ. It literally takes minutes to pull together and I guarantee kids and adults will enjoy.
Since I had to snap a photo before little hands started stealing my ingredients my lines are little crooked. But nonetheless, I love how it turned out! I used strawberries (with the tops removed), blueberries and vanilla wafers. As you can see, I started running out of strawberries on the last two stripes so I’ll buy more than I need when I make this again this weekend. If I can, I’ll also see if I can find a little star dish to put the blueberries in to make it a bit neater.
Fourth of July Playlists
So what’s a summer party without appropriate music? While searching around on Spotify, I came across a few good Fourth of July playlists that I wanted to share, in case you need some inspiration for your weekend. Some of these have a mix of music genres, while others are just a single genre (country). Hopefully you’ll find one you and your family and friends will enjoy!
This is the official Spotify Fourth of July Party playlist. It has 65 songs, running almost 4 hours long. The fun way to start out your holiday weekend!
This playlist was curated with only songs from the country genre. It has more than 150 songs on it, running 9.5 hours! If you’re a country music lover and plan on partying all day long, this is the perfect playlist for you!
This playlist has a mix of all genres from artists/bands new and old. It has 85 songs, which is just over 5 hours in play time.
Saving the best for last, this is the big kahuna. Primarily curated with classic rock and country, this playlist has a whopping 256 songs included, running over 15 hours long! You could play this throughout the whole weekend and have minimal repeats of songs, if at all!
I hope you’ve found some inspiration for snacks and tunes for summer’s biggest holiday! Happy Birthday, America! πΊπΈ
