This week marks 3 months since we moved into our new house. I wish I could say we are farther along in the decorating process than we are. If you read my last post, you know that we haven’t made headway on any of the projects we thought would be complete by now. And I feel like until some of those projects are complete, I’m stalling on decorating. But that’s not to say I’m still not dreaming up plans for when it’s time. So today I’m sharing my entryway inspiration for July’s Mood Board Monday.
As you’ll see, I’m still digging all the neutrals. Black, white/cream and natural wood tones give me all the heart eyes. I’m loving how this mood board turned out and love even more than it’s pretty budget-friendly. Most of the pieces come from Target, with the table being the most expensive item (and still only $160!).
About Our Entryway
I’ll start by saying, our entryway isn’t very big. When you walk in, you get a full view of the stairs leading to the second level to your left. But the ceilings go up to the second level with two large windows bringing in a lot of natural light. There’s about a 74″ opening on the wall that’s shared with the stairs and the outdoor wall so I have to be very conscientious of what goes in the space.
Once we chose our floor plan, I knew I wanted a console table there versus just a bench. I love the idea of having a lamp and a space to put keys and other knick-knacks. We do need some type of seating though and I think the square ottomans are perfect to pull out as needed. I need a basket because we have so much stuff that makes its way to the main level, even though it belongs upstairs. I used a basket at our old house for this same purpose and it helped immensely.
In my opinion, every entryway should have a mirror somewhere. Not only does it help brighten and open the space up, but it allows a final check before heading out the door. This circle mirror is 30″ in diameter and less than $80 so very budget-friendly. I finished up the mood board with a few accessories, including table books, some faux greenery and a wood key tray. I’m loving how everything ties together with the black, white and natural wood look.
