One of my favorite things to do to wind down is read a good book, so when I got pregnant I knew right away that I wanted to build a little library for my baby. When I found out I was having a girl, I got really excited because there are so many adorable books out there that are awesomely girly, while still building baby’s development. I started a “Mommy and Ivy” wish list on Amazon and continue to add to it when I come across fun books that I want to add to Ivy’s library. My hope is that I raise a little bookworm who loves reading just as much as I do.

Another fun idea, especially for friends or moms who are hosting a baby shower for a new mama-to-be, is to request guests bring baby a book instead of a card for the baby shower gift – just have guests write their well wishes inside the book cover (or on the back). This is a great way to jumpstart a library for any new mom as well as let baby have a keepsake for years to come. My sister did this for my baby shower and I love reading the books to Ivy as we wind down before she goes to bed.
I hope you have found some new books to add to your wishlist or collection! If you have a favorite go-to book that you and your little one read, leave a comment with below – I’m always looking for new books to add to our library.
